Slapton Ley Trip

This week a group of Year 12 Geography students visited FSC Slapton Ley to investigate Urban/Rural Rebranding and Coastal Management. We visited various areas including Start Bay, Plymouth, Torcross, Dartington and Stokeley. We experienced the effects of coastal erosion first-hand when we were occasionally diverted off of roads, as the original road had fallen into the sea last year! At Beesands we were faced with more examples of recent, dramatic erosion and we noted the different defences which are currently being used to protect property, as we lose more of our coastline in recent storm. Thank you to the students for their excellent behaviour, despite the long days and exhausting fieldwork!
