Update from our Governors

This has been a short term but a busy one for the Governors. We started the year by putting in place our School Improvement Plan, building on our Ofsted Good to take RPHS towards Outstanding status. It is an ambitious and impressive programme and we are grateful to the Headteacher and her Senior Leadership Team for its production.

On a day-to-day level Governors are pleased to note the progress of our students towards the academic targets we have set for them. We had two formal Strategic Visits to the school this term, and were impressed by students’ quiet and effective learning and by their behaviour around the school. We have a great set of staff and their care and dedication to our students is exceptional.

This term, we have said goodbye to one of our Parent Governors, Sue Cussen, who has contributed so much over her four years in office. In her place we welcome Terry Fairs, whose daughter Jessica is in Year 7. There will be much to do next term, and it is good that the Governing Body and its committees remain in good shape.
