University of Oxford Visit

This term, Mrs Smith took 14 of our Year 9 students to visit Merton College, University of Oxford.  We spent the day learning about higher education in general and about Oxford University in particular.  We had the  chance to ask two current undergraduates all about their daily life at Oxford, and enjoyed a guided tour of Merton College.  After a lovely lunch in the College Hall, our students took part in a scavenger hunt around the Bodleian Library, taking in some of Oxford’s most awe-inspiring sites.  We finished off with a visit to the Bodleian Treasures exhibition and a whistle-stop tour of the Harry Potter film locations in Christ Church.  It was an excellent day, and certainly helped our students to think about where their academic potential and hard work might take them in the future.
