Paralympian Gold Medallist Naomi Riches MBE inspires RPHS Students

The Awards Evening audience of students, families and staff listened intently when Naomi gave a moving account of how she overcame the limitations of her disability and survived a near fatal car crash helped by the mantra ‘Excellence is Habit’. She also used the Nelson Mandela quote “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again” to encourage the students to never give up.

Headteacher Mr Wheatley said, “Naomi is an excellent role model for young people, excelling in her sport and education. She was an inspiration to our students, showing what is possible with focus, determination and training.”

Naomi said, “It was a pleasure to meet with many of the Raynes Park High School students and to hear about their achievements both academically and in the field of sports.  The school has many talented students and I wish them every success in the future.”
