GCSE RESULTS 2018
Students and staff at Raynes Park High School are today celebrating their GCSE results, marking another year of excellent academic and personal achievements for the students. 65% of Year 11 students achieved secure GCSE passes (9 - 4: A* - C equivalent) and 45% of the cohort achieved strong passes (9 - 5: A* - B equivalent) in English and Maths. Both subjects achieved a 75% pass rate with 57% 9 - 5. The school is particularly delighted that 33 grades were awarded at 9 (A** equivalent) and 55 grades at 8 (A* equivalent). These are fantastic results which have been achieved by a fully comprehensive intake.
Headteacher Mrs Heard congratulates students on their individual achievements as well as the staff for the school’s overall success.

he school has seen a year on year improvement in examination results but it is not complacent and will continue to build on this year’s success. Examination achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of high quality teaching coupled with strong systems and teamwork.
Among the school’s vast number of success stories we are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of a number of individual students. Special praise should be given to Katarina Cabral who achieved a staggering nine grade 9s and one grade 8. Meanwhile, Kiera Hayles and Emily Fletcher also opened their results to find three grade 9s each in Science, History and English Literature.
Other noteworthy students include Laura Spiechowicz, who achieved all of her GCSEs at grade 7 and above including five subjects at grade 9 and Charlie Ross who achieved a grade 9 in both Maths and Physics alongside grade 8s in English Language and Literature. Similarly, Josh Potts should be commended for his grade 9 in English Literature and grade 8 in Maths along with Martin Chau for his grade 9 in Maths and two grade 8s in Science.

“These results are excellent given the significant changes to the GCSEs; with the abolition of coursework and controlled assessments, there are not only more exams to sit but there is also a far greater emphasis on these more demanding examinations.
We are particularly pleased that these results have enabled our students to go on to study the subjects of their choice Post 16 and we are delighted that so many Year 11s have selected to stay on at our Sixth Form. They have been a wonderful cohort and we wish all of our students the very best for the future”.
