Jack Petchey Regional Finals

The Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out’ Challenge is the largest speaking competition for young people in the world, and we are incredibly proud to have been represented by Jack and Joanna in the Regional Final this term. They competed against ten students from across the Borough, and we are so proud of their fantastic presentations. Their public speaking technique has come along in leaps and bounds since the first day of training, last term, in which they and their classmates received coaching from a professional trainer. During the Regional Final, which took place at Ursuline High School, the students had the opportunity to talk openly and honestly on any subject they feel strongly about.

“It was so impressive to see Joanna and Jack representing RPHS at the ‘Speak Out’ Regional Final.” said Mr Mba. “Their ability to engage and entertain the audience was excellent. Tackling topical issues such as homelessness and the ongoing debate about Britain’s role in the EU, their speeches conveyed passion and enthusiasm for their subjects. It was also pleasing to see our students embrace the art of public speaking, demonstrating confidence and a secure grasp of speaking skills that will establish them as great orators of the future. Well done to Jack and Joanna for rising to the Speak Out Challenge!”
