Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to the academic year 2016 – 2017. Central to our school motto ‘Inspiring Learning; Achieving Excellence’ is the firm belief that that students learn best within a secure, well-disciplined learning environment. We are totally committed to supporting all of our students on their RPHS journey and we are proud to congratulate students and staff on the achievement of this year’s GCSE and A Level cohorts. These excellent results reflect a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment from students and staff, maintaining the trend of improved performance in several subject areas.

Following our Ofsted inspection (October 2015) which rated the school as good in all categories, we have planned for continuous improvements this year. The school day will finish at 3pm allowing for a broader extra-curricular offer and time has been allocated to support literacy and oracy. We are also committed to ensuring that teaching, assessment, student well-being and outcomes continue to improve in every department at RPHS.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as Headteacher at RPHS. A particular highlight was the school’s 80th anniversary in July which provided the opportunity to celebrate the great many traditions at RPHS and I look forward to sharing in the schools continued success this academic year.
