Year 9 Football

The year 9 boys faced a tough test against a well drilled Glyn School on Wednesday 11th January and got off to the worst possible start by conceding a goal in the opening five minutes of the game. Glyn exploited a staggered defence through deep running lines and a well timed through ball penetrated our defence. A quick reshuffle at the back ensured more solidity and as the game grew, so did the confidence of the boys.

As the minutes ticked on, the boys kept knocking on the door, going close at a corner and then a one on one opportunity but were unfortunately unable to convert and Glyn held on to secure the win.

In what was a highly energy sapping affair, the boys did themselves immensely proud and demonstrated the core values which encompass Raynes Park, most specifically resilience and integrity. Well done lads, on to the next game!
