The librarians and art department have been working incredibly hard to create our brand new two floor library, and December 14^th saw its official opening, marked with a series of events, including a visit by pupils from West Wimbledon Primary, and a visit from Matt Oldfield,  author of the 'Football Series'.  Matt delivered inspiring creative writing sessions with our Year 7 and 8 students in the library, as well as a talk in the main hall. Students were also delighted that at lunchtime Matt held a signing session in the library, with copies of his books available to buy – a very popular choice!

The day ended with the official opening of the library, which included contributions from staff and students, and poetry readings from the team behind the creative writing magazine, Titania.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and students who have helped us to create such a unique space, putting literacy at the forefront of everything we do at Raynes Park High School.
