A-Level Press release: August 2020

Students and staff at Raynes Park High School are celebrating the A-Level results of the latest Year 13 cohort. Although the students and their teachers have had to cope with the unprecedented changes brought about by COVID-19, including school closure, statutory policy changes, numerous DfE updates and the examination season being cancelled, the school is delighted that the strong results for a wide range of students have been maintained with an increase of almost 20% in top grades awarded.

Headteacher Mrs Heard commented:

“We are very proud of our students; their results put them in a very strong position to progress onto their chosen pathway of study, training or employment – congratulations to them all.  The changes and challenges posed by a global pandemic have been overwhelming but their hard work alongside that of the dedicated staff at RPHS has really paid off and we’re so proud of their achievements. I would like to offer them our warmest congratulations and wish our former Year 13 students every success for the future.”

The results this year represent continued improvements in the outcomes our students achieve, and are the product of the hard work of both our students and staff. This year has been particularly unsettling for our students and we know that our teachers worked extremely hard to deliver this year’s arrangements so that students are able to move on to further study or employment with results that carry the same value as in previous years.

Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Mc Inerney added:

“We are delighted that the majority of our students were accepted to study at the university of their choice, secured apprenticeships or gained positions with employers. There were a number of outstanding individual results and we are so proud of all that has been achieved at this unprecedented time.

We are also really looking forward to welcoming many of our current Year 11 students into the 6th Form in September, alongside students from other schools and those joining the Fulham Education Programme."
