What is the Early Years, Childcare and Education?

NCFE CACHE Level 3 Applied General Certificate for Early Years, Childcare and Education​ is ideal for students who are interested in learning about Early years education, how children learn, the different types of child care and how children develop holistically from conception to 19 years old.

What will I study?

You will study 5 units over the course of 2 years.

These units are:

  • The role of the early years, childcare and education practitioner
  • Human development from conception to 19 years
  • Key legislation, policy and procedures
  • Statutory educational frameworks
  • Play and learning​​​

How is the course assessed?

You will be assessed via internally assessed coursework and externally assessed exams, one of which is an extended written assignment.

Who should study Early Years, Childcare and Education?​

This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career or future studies focusing on working with children in Health, Child Care or Education settings. The course will give you UCAS points that equate to similar-sized general qualifications allowing you to continue to study in at university or onto apprenticeships.
