All departments will set homework throughout the weekly timetable cycle. Core subjects will set weekly homework, whilst other subjects areas will set tasks either weekly or fortnightly. Deadlines for homework will depend on the nature of the task set but students will usually be given at least 48 hours to complete homework. Homework completed regularly throughout secondary school can be equivalent to an extra year of study. All homework will be set on Show My Homework which students and parents/carers have a log in for. In all cases homework should be assessed and feedback provided to the student within 2 lessons of the hand-in.

The amount of time (approximately) allocated for students in each year group is:

Year 7: 5/6 hours per week

Year 8: 5/6 hours per week

Year 9: 7 hours per week

Key Stage 4: 10/15 hours per week

Key Stage 5: 15 hours per week
